The 1946–47 New York Knicks season was the first season of the franchise in the Basketball Association of America, later National Basketball Association (NBA). The Knicks first head coach was Neil Cohalan. The Knicks had a record of 33-27, finishing third in the Eastern Division and qualified for the BAA Playoffs. The Knicks lost to the Philadelphia Warriors in the second round.
