The 1988–89 New York Knicks season was the forty-third season for the team in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Knicks finished first in the Atlantic Division with a 52-30 record, qualify for the playoffs. The Knicks swept the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round in three games to one. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks got eliminated by the Chicago Bulls in four games to two.
