The 1989–90 New York Knicks season was the forty-fourth season for the team in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Knicks finished third in the Atlantic Division with a 45-37 record, qualify for the playoffs. The Knicks eliminated the Boston Celtics in the first round, three to two. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks got eliminated by the defending champions Detroit Pistons in five games.
