- Grant Hill (age 40) and Jason Kidd (age 40) retire.
- Boston Celtics traded Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, D.J. White and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets for Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Keith Bogans, Kris Joseph, MarShon Brooks and 3 first round draft picks.
- Dwight Howard (FA) signed with the Houston Rockets.
- Al Jefferson (FA) signed with the Charlotte Bobcats.
- Josh Smith (FA) signed with the Detroit Pistons.
- Denver Nuggets traded Andre Iguodala to the Golden State Warriors in a 3-way team trade that sent Golden State's Andris Biedriņš and Richard Jefferson to the Utah Jazz.
- Los Angeles Clippers traded Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler to the Phoenix Suns in a 3-way team trade that sent Milwaukee Bucks' J.J. Redick and Phoenix's Jared Dudley to the Clippers. The Bucks received a 2014 second-round draft pick from Phoenix, and a another future second-round draft pick from the Clippers.
