Media[]

United States[]

This will be the last season of a nine-year deal with the ESPN family of networks, TNT Sports, and NBA TV, before new 11-year deals with ESPN, NBC and Amazon Prime Video begin in 2025–26. The 2024–25 season would thus mark the end of TNT airing NBA games since 1989, and TNT Sports' overall relationship with the league since 1984 on TBS.[30][31]

Under the expiring deal, ESPN has Wednesday and Friday night games during most of the regular season, along with select Sunday games.[32] TNT's schedule includes Tuesday nights games during most of the regular season, and Thursday nights during opening week and the second half of the season.[33] NBA TV televises games when the other national broadcasters are not airing games.[34] ABC airs NBA Saturday Primetime games on selected Saturdays and NBA Sunday Showcase games on selected Sunday afternoons.[32] ESPN/ABC and TNT may also feature simulcasts or alternative broadcasts of selected games on ESPN2 and TruTV, respectively.[35] ESPN/ABC will continue to air NBA Christmas games while TNT/NBA TV will continue to air NBA Martin Luther King Jr. Day games. This will be the second regular season that the streaming service Max will have live access to TNT's games on its Bleacher Report Sports Add-on tier. NBA League Pass continues to offer out-of-market games, live access to NBA TV, and on-demand replays of every game.

Bally Sports will be rebranded before the season begins.[36] The Chicago Bulls, the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks, MLB's Chicago White Sox, and Standard Media will launch the Chicago Sports Network, replacing NBC Sports Chicago as their regional broadcaster.[37][38] The New Orleans Pelicans signed a multi-year agreement with Gray Television to replace Bally Sports New Orleans as their broadcaster. Gray previously aired 10 Pelicans games on their stations last season. Gray's WVUE-DT in New Orleans will remain as the flagship station.[39]

Canada[]

The 2024–25 season brought a significant realignment for NBA broadcast rights within Canada, as it marked the first year of Corus Entertainment's seven-year, $5.2 billion contract for exclusive national television and digital media rights to the league. The networks of Corus Entertainment (Global Television Network, Teletoon, APTN, GBSN Live), plus the additions of CBC and SRC, replace both Sportsnet and TSN as the English-language cable broadcasters of the league.

Uniforms and Logos[]

  • On February 26, 2024, the Los Angeles Clippers unveiled a new logo and uniforms to coincide with their move to Intuit Dome. The team's new logo features a stylized clipper ship with basketball seams on its hull, surrounded by points of a compass and a navy blue "C" in a white circle. The new uniforms are modern versions of the script uniforms previously wore between 1987 and 2015. The white uniform features a "Clippers" modernized script wordmark in navy blue along with red numbers, the navy blue uniform features the "Clippers" script in red along with white numbers, and the alternative red uniform features a "Los Angeles" script wordmark in navy blue along with white numbers.[40]
  • On June 5, 2024, the Utah Jazz unveiled a 2-season long transition to a modernized version of their 1996-2004 uniforms.[41]
  • On June 21, 2024, the Washington Wizards unveiled a new "Statement" uniform.[42]
  • On June 27, 2024, the Golden State Warriors unveiled a new secondary logo and "Statement" uniform.[43]
  • On July 7, 2024. the Brooklyn Nets promoted their secondary logo to their primary and introduced a new secondary logo for the 2024–25 NBA season.[44]
  • On July 30, 2024, the Toronto Raptors revealed a new 30th anniversary logo for the 2024-25 season.[45]
