Adam Silver (born April 25, 1962) is an American basketball executive who currently serves as Commissioner of the NBA. Silver attended Duke. He began his career in 1992 where he held various positions before being appointed Deputy Commissioner of the NBA in 2006. In 2012, the NBA Board of Governors selected him as the next commissioner to succeed David Stern following Stern's retirement in 2014.
