AfroBasket (historically known as the FIBA Africa Championship and alternatively the FIBA African Championship) is the men's basketball continental championship of Africa, played every four years under the auspices of FIBA (the sport's world governing body) and the its African zone.

Through 2015, the event was held every two years and served to qualify teams for participation in the quadrennial FIBA Basketball World Cup and the Olympic basketball tournament. From 2017 forward, AfroBasket and all other men's continental championships were placed on a new four-year cycle and also removed from World Cup and Olympic qualifying. Accordingly, the next AfroBasket is scheduled for 2021.
