Alexandre Sarr (born April 26, 2005) is a French professional basketball player who currently plays for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and plays the Power Forward and Center positions.
Professional Career[]
Overtime Elite[]
Sarr joined the newly formed Overtime League in 2021, which was an alternative to college and offered young prospects an opportunity to play basketball for a guaranteed salary.
Perth Wildcats[]
Sarr joined the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League on the 9th of May 2023. He finished the season averaging 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 17 minutes per game.
Washington Wizards[]
Sarr was selected with the second overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft to the Washington Wizards, signing a rookie contract on July 6. He notably didn't perform well in the Summer League, averaging only 5.5 points a game, while shooting only 22.6% from the field. Sarr would record 2 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist on his debut on October 24.
