The Colonial Athletic Association (known as the CAA) is a conference participating in the NCAA's Division I, with member institutions in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It was founded in 1979 as the ECAC South, a basketball-only league, and adopted its current name in 1985, when it became an all-sports conference.
