Conference USA (known as CUSA) is a conference participating in the NCAA's Division I, with member institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, and Virginia. It was founded in 1995, the result of a merger between the Great Midwest Conference and five schools from the Metro Conference.
CUSA was a significant focus of activity during all three major conference realignment cycles of the 21st century (2005, early 2010s, and 2020s). None of its charter members are now in the conference; only one member, UTEP, joined before 2013, and it will leave in 2026 for the Mountain West Conference.
