Corey Antonie Maggette is an American professional basketball Small Forward who is currently a Free agent. He last played for San Antonio Spurs's preaseason roster. Maggette was drafted 13th overall in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics out of Duke University.
Corey was drafted out of Duke with the 13th pick in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics. He then was traded to the Orlando Magic. The Magic traded Horace Grant to Seattle.
Corey played 77 games, a career high in a season for Corey, with the Magic and started 5 of those games.
Los Angeles Clippers
On June 28, 2000, Corey, Derek Strong, and the draft rights to Keyon Dooling were traded to the Clippers for a 2006 first round draft pick. During his tenure with the Clippers, Maggette made himself as a solid forward and developed into a perennial 15+ per game scorer. Known for his amazing jumping ability as well as his propensity to create contact and get to the free throw line—is consistently among the league leaders in free throws both attempted and made.
