The Great Plains Athletic Conference is a conference participating in the NAIA's Division II, with member institutions in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. It was founded in 1969 as the Nebraska Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The league was renamed the Nebraska-Iowa Athletic Conference when Northwestern joined, and again to its current name in 2000.
