John Loyer (December 29, 1964) is an American basketball coach who has served as Interim Head Coach for the Detroit Pistons. Loyer previously served as assistant coach for 27 years coaching for 7 different teams including his alama mater Akron Zips were he began his career in 1987. In January 2014, Loyer was appointed interim coach after the firing of Maurice Cheeks.
