The Kansas City Roos basketball team, historically known as the UMKC Kangaroos, represents the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in Kansas City, Missouri. The Roos returned to the Summit League on July 1, 2020 after a seven-year absence spent in the Western Athletic Conference. The team has never played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. The Roos are currently coached by Billy Donlon.
UMKC officially changed its athletic identity to "Kansas City Roos" on July 1, 2019, although the university name did not change.[1]
