Michael Dean "Mike" Woodson (born March 24, 1958) is an American retired professional basketball player and current head coach who mostly recently coached the New York Knicks (2012-2014). In his 10 years coaching Woodson has made consecutive playoff appearances leading the Hawks to be back to back playoffs in 2008-09 and 2009-10 and with the Knicks in 2011-12 and 2012-13, but never made it further than the Conference semifinals. He served as assistant coach for the 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons. After being fired as Knicks head coach he decided to join NBA Gametime as part of NBA TV's playoff coverage.
