The River States Conference, known for most of its history as the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, is a conference participating in the NAIA's Division II, with member institutions in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In the past, it has also included schools in Missouri, Tennessee, and Virginia. Its headquarters are in Middletown, Ohio.
Historically, it had been a Kentucky-only conference, but first expanded outside the state in 1964. The conference adopted its current name in 2016 to better reflect its membership base; only four of its 13 members at that time were located in Kentucky.
