The Southern Conference (known as the SoCon) is a conference participating in the NCAA's Division I, with member institutions in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. It was founded in 1921, and is the parent conference of both the Southeastern Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference.
