Takuya Kawamura (born April 14, 1986) is an Japanese professional basketball who used to play for the Phoenix Suns. He is currently signed by the Seahorses Mikawa.
Early basketball career[]
In 2005, he skipped college and started playing professional basketball, following Kazuo Nakamura's advice, and did well in the Japanese professional basketball leagues.
NBA career[]
Phoenix Suns (2009–present)[]
In 2009, Kawamura joined the Phoenix Suns' training camp and made the opening night roster, although he would be undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft. He scored seven points in his first NBA game against the Golden State Warriors on October 30, 2009, becoming on that day, the second Japanese player ever to play in an NBA regular season game. He is known as the "Offence Machine".
Personal Life[]
His older brother also plays basketball. Takuya has been married with two children and had a radio show on Tochigi's Radio Berry FM.
