Brendan Todd Haywood (born 11 November 1979 in New York, New York) is a professional basketball player in the NBA.As a senior in high school, Haywood won the Gatorade North Carolina Basketball Player of the Year. Haywood graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001, and while there he recorded the first triple-double in school history against the University of Miami on December 4 2000 with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks (which was also a UNC record). He also finished his college baketball career as the Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time leader in field goal percentage (63.7%). After playing college basketball at North Carolina, he was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 20th overall pick of the 2001 NBA draft. He was then traded to the Washington Wizards, where he has played for the tenure of his NBA career, averaging 6.9 points per game. Haywood went by the nickname "Baby Huey" in high school and college, but decided to leave that behind when he moved on to the NBA.
